Split

I haven’t seen any of M. Night Shyamalan’s latest movies, but seeing that he’s had some sort of resurgence with The Visit, I went to give Split a view. I didn’t know what to expect from this because I avoided a lot of reviews and spoilers, but it’s best to go to this one blind. Split is not so much as a horror flick, but a thrilling piece. This review has spoilers.

Thursday Movie Picks: Science Fiction (TV)

Thursday Movie Picks is hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. This year she introduces a new category, the television edition. This month’s theme is science fiction. There are a lot of sci-fi shows I have to catch up on, so my picks this week are all over the place. Here are my picks this week.

Sherlock, Jr

Sherlock Jr is my first foray into silent film. With that said, I'm not sure how to go about this review. Are there any methods or techniques that I should be looking at? I know nothing about the silent film industry so I will be sharing my thoughts about this film at its face value. Sherlock Jr focuses on a movie theater employee who takes an interest in detective work.  His interest gets put into test when a gold watch turns missing.

Thursday Movie Picks: The Underdog

EDIT: I didn't know this theme was pushed until March, but here it is. Thursday Movie Picks is hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. This week is all about the underdog. Here are my picks this week.

Favorite Books of 2016

This has to be my current favorite year end list – my favorite books of 2016! Last year was a year of reading. I got to read a variety of things: some were excellent, while others were bad or disappointing. I read books that wedged themselves in my all-time favorite books, and revisited some favorites when a reading slump was due. This list is composed of 10 of my favorite new to me books, as well as other books I really enjoyed. The books on the list are not necessarily published during 2016.

Thursday Movie Picks: Fashion World

Thursday Movie Picks is hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. This week’s theme is diving into the world of fashion – another kind of theme where my choices are a bit limited. With that, here are my picks for this week.

Disappointing Books of 2016

2016 was a good reading year for me, quantity-wise. I got to read a variety of books, and while there were excellent books, there were some that missed the mark. These books aren't terrible, but for some reason I did not enjoy reading these, or was terribly disappointed by them. I decided to leave off the forgettable ones off the list and instead focus on those that I passionately feel disappointed with. Here are my disappointing books for 2016.

Thursday Movie Picks: Legal Thrillers

Thursday Movie Picks is hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. To see other entries and themes for this year, head over to her blog and join in! This year is starting off with legal thrillers. I had a hard time with this one as I don’t watch a lot of movies that could be considered as legal thrillers. Here are my picks this week.
