Thursday Movie Picks: Cars/Racing

Thursday Movie Picks is hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. This week's theme is a theme that I know next to nothing about - cars and racing. Both haven't appealed to me in any way except for transportation needs, and my choices this week shows the lack of knowledge about the theme. Here are my picks for the week.

Cars - This was a good movie. It has the elements that Pixar usually puts in their movies, and it does get uplifting in the end.

Need for Speed - I would put the Fast and the Furious franchises down for this theme, but I don't remember much from the first two movies and haven't seen the rest. While this isn't the equivalent of that franchise, there is racing and car theft involved - and that's where the similarities end. I don't think this was bad, but it wasn't great either.

Rush - Twenty minutes through the movie I asked myself what I was doing in the cinema, watching a movie I remotely have no interest in nor do I know what it was about. Glad I stuck it out because it was a good movie, and Daniel Bruhl was amazing in it.

  1. I've seen Cars and Rush which are the obvious picks as I almost chose the latter but went with something else entirely. Need for Speed I've heard of but I've only seen bits of it.

  2. Rush was a lot better than I expected it to be too. I really enjoyed it. I hated Cars. lol
