Thursday Movie Picks: Clones/Doppelgänger

Thursday Movie Picks is hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. This week’s theme is about clones or doppelgänger in movies. I haven’t seen a lot of movies that fit this theme, so I went with some known ones. Here are my picks this week.

The Island – I can’t really piece what happens in this movie together, but Ewan McGregor finds out that he’s a clone, and he takes ScarJo to escape with him because he was in love with her (and it was forbidden in their residence). I don’t remember much what happened after they escape.

The Sixth Day – Another cloning movie, The Sixth Day has Arnold Schwarzenegger try to escape a group of goons from killing him. This is one of those movies that I could watch over and over again – especially when it’s on television. It’s mindless but a good movie.

Enemy - This is one of Jake Gyllenhaal's best movies to date. The ending still surprises me until now.

  1. The Island is definitely one of the worst films I had ever seen as I'm not surprised considering that it's from Michael Bay as anyone wanting to see a remake of Logan's Run will see that it's this film as it's just shit. I don't blame Scar-Jo 3:16 for shitting on that film.

  2. The Island might be Michael Bay's best. That's not exactly saying a lot, but it is what it is. Enemy is insane. I really need to watch it again. Just so much going on in that one, and Gyllenhaal is great in both roles.

  6. Enemy is the popular movie for this week and one I want to see. I haven't seen The Island and I might...one day. A mindless flick like The Sixth Day can be fun to watch.
