Thursday Movie Picks: Friendship (TV)

The last post of the year! Thursday Movie Picks is hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. For entries of other participants, visit her site! This last Thursday of the year is dedicated to friendships on television. Here are my picks for the week.

Community - In particular, the friendship of Troy and Abed. They are both easily the best characters in the show. They all started as strangers who has inevitably formed a study group when Jeff Winger pretended he had a group just so he can ask Britta Perry out. I never got to finish the show as I've skipped the last season, but the first three seasons were pretty good.

Parks and Recreation - The friendships on this show are solid. If this was my workplace, I would love going to work no matter how hard the job is because of these people. If I had to pick a favorite friendship, it would be Leslie and Ron. I miss this show so much.

Cougar Town - This show struggled to find its foot in the first season, but has eventually morphed to a show about a group of 40-somethings who mostly live in the same neighborhood and drink wine all the time as they navigate through their personal lives. It's funny but can be emotional at times. My favorite friendship in this group would be Jules and Ellie, but Ellie and Laurie's banters are pretty great to watch.

  1. I liked Parks and Rec though I never watched it every week. I never saw the other two shows.

    1. I was late to the Parks & Rec party. I caught up 3 seasons in and didn’t expect to love it as much as I do.

  2. Aw I loved Community but I also missed Season 6, it moved off to another place and didn't find its way to Netflix. I love Parks and Rec - rewatch it all the time!

    1. Community went downhill midway through Season 3. I thought that they had milked that war they have towards the end of the season.
