Rocket
Science
Competition: Debate
I
really don’t remember much about this movie except for Anna Kendrick yelling at
the main character. I do remember enjoying this gem, and while it’s not one of
Kendrick’s best (she plays a supporting character here), it’s still a good
movie if you’re on the lookout for something new.
Competition:
Triwizard Tournament
While
I did like both the book and the movie of this, I was kind of irked by it. I
think it’s because of Cedric Diggory’s death, and the effects of the wizard war
to innocent bystanders. I mean here is one person who has absolutely nothing to
do with Harry and was unfortunately at the wrong place at the wrong time because
of Harry. This is the only time in the series where there is something new
going on and we meet people from different schools and places. The challenges
here are well rounded; it stimulates the mind and the heart, as well as
challenges the individual physically. I think it’s about time I watch the movie
again.
The
Emperor’s Club
Competition: The Emperor's Club/Mr. Julius Caesar
I don’t remember much from
this either, but it is very much focused on sharpening of the minds and gaining
wisdom through knowledge.
Yey!! You chose Rocket Science too. Its odd that this was one Kendrick's first lead roles, but I watch this for Thompson :)
ReplyDeleteI also chose Goblet. Katie also had Rocket Science and I had said I thought I saw it, but when I look at your photo of it, I know I did. I remember it now.
ReplyDeleteOthers have picked Rocket Science too and it sounds interesting. I'll add it on my watchlist.
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is one of my favorites. I wasn't too bothered by the changes from the book and felt that a lot of them were okay. It's a fun movie overall, excluding Cedric's death (obviously). Nice list!
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! I don't remember much else about Rocket Science either, but Anna Kendrick is so good. Almost went Goblet of Fire myself.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen the 1st or last one but i have seen the harry Potter film and I was so sad to see Cedric bite the dust especially since he is from Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff is such a passive house to belong to (I would belong to Ravenclaw)
