Thursday Movie Picks: Just One Day

Thursday Movie Picks is hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. Go to her site to see the list of themes and join in! This week is about movies that happen in one day. The first thing I thought of was the Before trilogy, but I decided not to go with them. I did have to double check in some of my picks if it did happen in a day. Here are my picks for the week.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day - This is one of my favorite Amy Adams movies. This stars Frances Dormand as the titular Miss Pettigrew, as she becomes a governess to a young socialite and witnesses her adventures in a day. It's quite a charming film.

Arthur Christmas - This is a heartwarming Christmas movie about Arthur, the son of the current Santa and how he wants to see children happy. An opportunity arose when they forgot to bring a present to one of the kids and it's up to Arthur to deliver the present before sunrise. This has become one of my favorite Christmas movies.

One Fine Day - While I wasn't a fan of how anti-climactic the ending of the movie is, it seems fitting for their characters that all they want to do is relax after a strenuous day. When their children missed their trip, two single parents juggle babysitting each other's kids while trying to get through their busy day and eventually fall in love. It isn't the best romantic comedy there is, but is entertaining enough.

  1. I had Miss Petigrew in my Netflix queue for years and I still haven't watched it. I still want to.

    1. It's a delightful film. I would have wanted it to be longer, but I was happy with how it was.
