Thursday Movie Picks: Store/Supermarket/Mall Movies

Thursday Movie Picks is a weekly event hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves. This week is about store/supermarket/mall movies. My choices this week is mostly set in a store. Here are my choices for the week.

Bad Santa
Setting: Department Store Mall
Bad Santa has Willie and Marcus work as Santa and his helper during the Christmas holidays – then robs the store when Christmas comes. This was an entertaining movie. If you’re up to watch something different than the usual holiday movies, I suggest you go and see this.

The Good Girl
Setting: Supermarket
One of Jennifer Aniston’s great performances, The Good Girl has a woman living a stagnant life enter an affair with a co-worker. This was a charming little film filled with familiar faces.

Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself
Setting: Bookstore
Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself is a film that I quite enjoyed. Harbor is a lonely shop owner who is always looking out for Wilbur, his brother. Wilbur has suicidal tendencies; uncertain as to why he should keep on living. They both encounter Alice, a single mother struggling to raise her daughter in a stable home. I really liked this film; it’s a bit slow, but has its charm.

  6. I've never been enticed to see Bad Santa nor The Good Girl BUT I remember when Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself and being a Shirely Henderson fan I wanted to see it.
