Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok is the third installment in the Thor franchise, and has a much different tone from its predecessors. The movie has Thor facing the biggest battle known in Norse mythology – Ragnarok, the end of the world. In this case, Ragnarok meant the end of Asgard, the place getting engulfed in flames. This isn’t a spoiler; the events of Ragnarok have been explained in the opening credits. In this installment, Thor faces Hela, Goddess of Death. The viewers find out what happened to Hulk, and more of Norse mythology comes to play in the form of Valkyrie. Ragnarok is an entertaining installment in the Marvel universe, but it doesn’t really have much working for it. *spoilers ahead*

If you're one of the car enthusiasts living in Asia, you must know of the Formula 1 weekend that's currently happening in the lovely country of Singapore. In lieu of that, it seems fitting that I do a review about racing. I don't know anything about the world of racing, and watched the film because of Chris Hemsworth (I'm guessing it's an attempt to draw wider audiences in, like me). The only things I know about racing are basically fast cars and badass drivers, and it what Rush is about. Rush takes us to the world of racing, particularly through the eyes of two racers, James Hunt and Niki Lauda.

Snow White and the Huntsman

Snow White and the Huntsman is a darker take on the familiar Disney adaptation that we all know. It rivaled fellow fantasy adaptation Mirror Mirror, which was released earlier this year. Because I like Kirsten Stewart more than Lily Collins, and prefer Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, I decided to go see this one before seeing the former. Based on the pilot, trailer, advertising and the cast, I assumed that this would be the better movie. Unfortunately, I should have gone to this without much expectation as I ended up disappointed. Oh, to be fooled by advertising.
