Quick Reviews

Sometimes I don't have it in me to write more than one paragraph about a movie, thus quick reviews! I don't want to dump a lot of reviews under one post, so a quick review post would likely contain three to four movies, depending on how much I've watched lately or for the past few months. Below are my thoughts on Heartbeats, Atomic Blonde, and Fun Mom Dinner.

The Big Lebowski tethers on the premise of mistaken identity when Jeff "The Dude" Lebowski was mistaken for someone else and gets himself embedded in a mess that he has nothing to do with. This movie plays a lot into pop culture, especially with the iconic character played by Jeff Bridges. This movie brought together a string of varied personalities to produce what is a hilarious comedy.

This is the third month of the 5 Obstructions blogathon. For this obstruction, I've chosen to review Monsters University, a movie I haven't gotten around to reviewing. Because of this month's restrictions, I found it that it would be easier to write about a recent movie, as most would have probably seen it and share similar sentiments. This challenge mostly reminded me of the research paper process. Sources can be found under the cut. Argo is simple. It's about sneaking out six Americans out of Iran through a Hollywood movie cover up. The plan is insane, and it worked. Ben Affleck managed to take a simple but complicated story and turn it into an amazing film. The build up was rather slow, but it was thrilling to see the entire event unfold; it even had me at the edge of my seat at one point. No wonder this has been raking in awards; it's smart, thrilling and interesting.
