12/16: Monthly Recap

This is the last post for the year! 2016 has been a year of...I'm thinking of anything positive to say but I don't think I've had as much headaches as I did this year. It was a good year personally, but environment-wise, it was not. Maybe 2017 should be about staying positive and surviving, and fighting for justice. There's a lot of darkness in the world, and hopefully the goodness of humanity shrines through.

December has been an average month for movies. This is also the month where I should catch up on this year's releases before movie lists roll out. While I keep a ranked list, I don't think I'll be doing a top films for 2016 list because it wasn't a good movie year for me. I wasn't very passionate about most of the movies I've seen, so it's not ideal to make a list where I only genuinely adore 5 movies I've seen that were released this year. Looking forward to other people's lists, though. With that, here are the movies I've seen this month.

11/16: Monthly Recap

As the year is coming to an end, I’ve been slowly evaluating my interests in terms of movie viewings, and to an extent, writing about it. I usually try to get a good number of movies per month but other things are happening and I’m fine with it. I haven’t seen a lot than I’d like, and that’s ok. I haven't written much either, but it's all right. That just means there are more great movies to look forward to. This month is certainly no different. Here are the movies I’ve seen this month.

10/16: Monthly Recap

Happy Halloween! I'm not really much of a halloween person so the only thing I am looking forward for the week is that rare midweek break - which happens to be tomorrow. October was a so-so month for my movie viewing. I have yet to watch Doctor Strange (and avoiding reviews) but maybe I'll get to it sometime this week. Here's what I did end up watching this month.

09/16: Monthly Recap

By my standards I got to watch a decent number of movies, although I have been pacing myself. Though it doesn’t mean that a good chunk of them were amazing; a lot were a bit so-so to good. Nothing massively disappointing. With that said here are the movies I watched this September!

08/16: Monthly Recap

August went by a little slower than the previous months! This month’s wrap up also includes movies I’ve seen in July. Here’s what I’ve watched in July and August!

06/16: Monthly Recap

So that was June. This month has gone by really fast! I've only watched four movies this month, by far the lowest for the year. I've been preoccupied with so many things, and I don't think things will change anytime soon. With that, here are the four movies I've seen this month.

05/16: Monthly Recap

It's already mid-June...and I'm just writing my May wrap up. The past few weeks got away from me. I went on a quick holiday with my family, and have been busy with work recently, so I'm only finding time now to write this. This space will be a bit quiet for now; I have been thinking about the blog and the direction it's going to. Stepping away from doing anything blog-related has been great, but that just means there's a lot of stuff to catch up on.

04/16: Monthly Recap

Things basically went south on the blogging front. I haven't had the time to watch any new movies, hence another small movie count. I have caught up with Blindspot and the second season of You're the Worst, as well as binge-watched season 2 of Kimmy Schmidt. It's not as good as the first season, but I cannot wait for the third one. I think the first few days of May will still be a bit busy on my end, but I am looking forward for some actual downtime to watch (and hopefully review) movies.

03/16: Monthly Recap

March certainly flew by. I was hoping to watch a lot more movies this month before things got busy, but to no avail. On the plus side, I think I'm almost out of the slump. So here are the movies I've seen this month.

02/16: Monthly Recap

The movie-watching slump continues! The only positives that I’ve gotten out of this is that my reading speed is still steady, and that I finally caught up with Brooklyn Nine-Nine! I have binge-watched the first two seasons, and I really enjoy the show. It took me long enough to get hooked, so now I’m catching up with the third season. I also started watching The Office, and so far I’m only in the second season – lots more watching to do. With that, here are the movies I’ve seen this month:

01/16: Monthly Recap

January was quite a month. For all the things that happened (entertainment industry-wise), what saddened me was the loss of Alan Rickman. He is such a great actor not only on the Harry Potter movies but on his other endeavors as well. My favorite character of his (besides Snape) was Alexander Dane in Galaxy Quest – never have I seen Rickman handle a comedic role that well.

There were a bit of minimal changes on the blog – this section included. I am also going to try to stick to a blogging schedule, as I won’t be online as much. I’m also doing a reading challenge this year – I went with Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge, with my progress and mini-reviews linked in the projects header of the blog. I’ve also foregone my top 10 films and performances for the year as I haven’t had the time to work on the respective posts.

With that said, here’s what I’ve watched this month:

06/15: Isn't it strange, to create something that hates you?

My laptop has chosen a great time to break down and I don't know when I'm going to get it back (hence no links section this month). Hopefully that would be soon as I have to draft up some stuff if I don't want to leave my space blank for the next coming weeks. How was the first half of 2015 for you? Movie-wise, it has been a disappointing year so far. My numbers are so low compared to last year's, and it seems like there's nothing much worth going to the cinema for. Either my taste in movies have shifted (though I highly doubt that), or there's a limited number of good works that have been released. I'm hoping things get better at the latter half.

03/15: There are no two words in the English language more harmful than 'good job'.

The month has been slow, blog-wise. The only review I wrote this month was for my blind spot, and I had almost forgotten about it! I wasn't feeling very 'wordy', but hopefully things will go back on track. I spent the start of the month watching tv series, finishing You're the Worst, Selfie and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I'm still thinking about which show to marathon next, maybe I'll finally get back on track with The Affair or House of Cards

01/15: Nobody puts Baby in the corner.

How's 2015 treating you so far? January seemed like a fluid month, with some major ups and downs, but my optimistic self is hoping for better things to come as the year goes by. Sundance has also started, which means a new crop of films to look out for for limited/wide release. Awards season has begun; besides SAG, Critics and Globes, there's still the Oscars, which received a lot of backlash for various reasons. Even mid-season premieres started this month. Besides Parks & Recreation and Cougar Town (both shows are ending this year), I've started watching Galavant, though the musical-medieval bit charm is starting to wear off. There's also Backstrom, but I got annoyed with one scene because the sound of the rain was muffling any conversation that was transpiring. Still giving it a chance though. Any new shows you're watching mid-season?
